Things to see, things to do...
Free to mill about or join in, from 1pm at the club there will be a variety of workshops and creative endeavours, up until 5:30. Below are some of these workshops and activities. (A schedule will appear closer to the day). Check it out!
CHIP TUNES Workshop
How to take electronic devices, often older consoles, toys and keyboards and help them to make new and interesting sounds. This workshop welcomes beginners and those more experienced in the arcane craft of messing with things, with instruction and guidance by Morg An of “Midsized Sedance”.
TRACKERS Workshop
With decades of expereince across a range of tracking tools, “Hedonist” will share some insights on programs and processes to bring out the beautiful, horrible or terrifying music you might have in you. There may be other types of music.
SYNTHESISERS AND MODULES Workshop
“HISS” will be leading an exploration of the world of Tactile Instruments and Synthesiser Modules, including some of his own creations, featruing one dimensional sound, fresh and foetid for the listener and learner.
COMMUNITY AND WORKPLACE MAPPING Workshop
With a focus on initial actions to power, and aiming to build cultures that’ll outlast organisations or generations, this is an interactive workshop and forum run by one half of “Sub Urbane”, inviting you to shape our expectations and our place in the future.
DOODLE RECALL
For anyone who has ever pushed a pen across the page to just have a bit of fun, this is a group activity that combines imagination, memory and doodling. If you are here on the day, jump on a seat and brace yourself for a sketchy good time! If time permits, the results will be rushed to a photocopier to be blown up and plastered on the wall to confuse and amuse people late into the evening.
COLLAGE TABLE
Yup, cutting eyes and mouths off one person and sticking them onto another… using magazines. A bit of a time honoured activity, it’s a good chance to relax, get your glue stick going and laugh and groan at what a Women’s Weekly or TV guide can produce with a bit of cut n paste.
CONVERSATION
This is a public speaking format. It looks like debating, but it’s not. One topic as a jump-off point, two teams, a bunch of scribes. The wining team is the one that gets the most votes from the scribes. There will be some kind of prize… just not sure what.
